To Configure Email Notifications

This section describes the steps involved in configuring email notifications for use in AssetWise and Asset Lifecycle Information Management:

Enabling Email in SMC

In SMC, confirm that the Mail Distribution is turned on, and has the following SMTP setting:

Verifying the SMC Email Queue is Enabled

In SMC, the queue for the community may not be enabled. If it is not enabled, a red bar appears at the top of the window and you can click Enable (in the top right corner) to enable the queue. All emails including unsent emails are displayed. For example:

Mapping the Email Directory Entry Attribute

  1. In AssetWise Director, navigate to the General node in the System Defaults tree.
  2. In the Directory Entry type for E-Mail parameter, select Email from the list.

Updating the ARS Application Email Address

By default, AssetWise is configured to use the "Email" attribute. If you want to use a different email attribute, then follow these steps to update the property:

  1. Locate the ARS website directory.
  2. Open App/plugins/eb/config/config.json.
  3. Locate the following property:
  4. Edit its value.
  5. Save and close the file.

Defining a User's Email Address

  1. In AssetWise Director, open the Person for which you want to assign an email address.
  2. Expand Directory Entries.
  3. In the Email directory name, enter the user's full email address in the Description box. For example:
